Associate of Science in Nursing Program - Overview

St. Joseph School of Nursing offers an Associate of Science in Nursing program leading to a degree in nursing and eligibility to take the licensing examination in New Hampshire or to seek licensure in other states. The program of education includes organized instruction in the scientific, cultural, spiritual and social aspects of nursing with correlated learning experiences.

The program is open to both men and women and is designed to lead to an Associate of Science degree in nursing. The curriculum extends over a 2-year period of five semesters and consists of 68 credit hours, 50 credit hours of which are theory, 4 credit hours of clinical laboratory, and 14 credit hours of clinical experience.

The program is scheduled to begin in September of each year and consists of a five-day week with classes held between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Clinical days have varied start times.

LPN to RN Transition Course

The ASN program offers
a transition course for licensed practical nurses.  The transition student begins their education during the Summer Semester beginning in May and joins the current class in July.  Nursing career mobility opportunities are also provided.
