St. Joseph School of Nursing is proud to announce that following a candidacy period, the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program at St. Joseph School of Nursing has achieved accreditation with the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc.!

St. Joseph School of Nursing has been educating nurses since 1908 and is committed to excellence in nursing education. Accreditation reflects the commitment to the highest standards in nursing education and St. Joseph School of Nursing would like to recognize and thank the faculty and staff who worked diligently to achieve NLNAC accreditation for the ASN program and the students we serve.

St. Joseph School of Nursing would also like to recognize the administration at St. Joseph Hospital, members of the Professional Advisory Committee, and communities of interest and students for their continued support during this journey. We look forward to partnering with local and regional colleges and universities to allow our nursing students the opportunity to seamlessly continue their nursing education through matriculation into BSN/MSN programs.

WELCOME

St. Joseph School of Nursing reflects the Mission of St. Joseph Hospital that promotes a healing ministry.  The School's mission is to provide education that fosters the growth of the individual personally, socially, and spiritually in order that they may carry on this healing ministry through service to others.

The Associate of Science in Nursing Degree Program, established in 2005, offers an associate of science degree in nursing and eligibility to take the NCLEX-RN licensure exam.  The program of education includes organized instruction in the scientific, cultural, spiritual and social aspects of nursing with correlated learning experiences.  The program offers either a two-year track or a one-year LPN to ASN track for licensed practical nurses.  Nursing career mobility opportunities are also provided.  

St. Joseph School of Nursing is currently accepting applications for the following programs:

ASN Program:  a two year, five semester program that begins in September of each year

LPN to ASN Program:  a one year, three semester, fast track program for current LPNs, that begins in May and September of each year.

Applicant file review schedule for the LPN to ASN program beginning in May 2013:

                                     April 1, 2013 Regular Decision

                                     April 2013 - Orientation

Applicant file review schedule for the ASN and the LPN to ASN programs beginning in September 2013:   

                                     March 15, 2013 Early Decision

                                     June 30, 2013 Regular Decision

                                     July 2013 – Orientation

Only completed applicant files will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee on the above posted dates.  (Please refer to the Application Checklist). 

The ASN program is fully approved by the New Hampshire Board of Nursing The Associate of Science in Nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission, Inc.

The Practical Nursing Program

We will no longer be accepting applicants to the practical nursing program and will graduate the last class in August 2013.

The Practical Nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc., and fully approved by the New Hampshire State Board of Nursing.

The Health Occupations Program offers a Nursing Assistant course.  The course includes 54 hours of theory and 90 hours of clinical instruction. 

Also offered is a nursing assistant challenge course for qualified individuals.

The Health Occupations Nursing Assistant program is fully approved by the New Hampshire Board of Nursing.

ACCREDITATION

St. Joseph School of Nursing is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).  The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency.

St. Joseph School of Nursing Associate of Science in Nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

APPROVALS 

St. Joseph School of Nursing and its programs are approved by the NH Department of Education – Division of Higher Education – Higher Education Commission, 101 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH  03301, and by the NH Board of Nursing, 21 Fruit Street, Suite 16, Concord, NH 03301.
